I acquired this nest from a tree in our back yard, just off the patio, and just near our bedroom window where a pair of house finches (gray with soft red bellies) sang the most exquisite bird arias that you could imagine. I really questioned the birds' reasoning for building their nest so low to the ground, actually about 10 feet up the trunk of the tree, and, no, it was not high enough to keep my cat, Sugar Boy, from his natural curiosity. The birds got away, escaping Sugar Boy's clutches, but they don't live here any more, and I miss them.
