It seems like a long time since I have posted a painting that I completed on one day, and it feels great. When working on a series, the focus becomes more tightened down. Not only that but I have been working on getting a new website up. It's almost ready to be launched, but I need a couple more days to get it right.
This sweet little calf is not part of the series. He is a memory from my trip to Switzerland in the fall, from a photograph, and I just really wanted to paint him today. The breed is not Swiss, but Scottish, and they do quite well in Switzerland; I see them often. When walking around, along the thousands of pathways and hiking trails, the cows really make me feel peaceful. Much of it is the bells they wear, and they remind me of temple bells.
