Calypso - Oil on canvas, 36 x 36 x 1.5 in
$3000 Painting the "Calypso series" has been a break-through moment for me. I was inspired to create each entire composition with tape and no preconceived design. Each painting was fashioned one shape at a time, allowing the oil paint to dry before moving on to the next adjacent shape, taping and painting and repeating. All color and shape decisions were made intuitively. I am enjoying the generous, lyrical quality of this method. The painting continues around the sides of the canvas.
